"We must always aim for the impossible; if we lower our goal, we also diminish our effort." - Dorothy Day

Founder & Chief Executive Officer
about me

Luis has founded and led Mastik Media since the company's inception. A passionate Catholic, avid creative, and strategic thinker he has worked hard to foster an innovative and compassionate culture at Mastik Media. Luis is a first generation immigrant from the Dominican Republic, a poet, a designer, and a businessman who loves theology, philosophy, design thinking, and systems theory. He has always been fascinated with creativity and its influence on culture as well as its impact on human psychology. Luis is a critical thinker and a problem solver with a love for social development. To him, creativity does not only apply in artistic fields, its assumed habitat. It also applies to create systems, processes, and models to solve real-world problems. This is, for him, not only a passion but a form of ministry. Luis obtained his Batchelor's in Creative Writing and Graphic Design from Rhode Island College. He then obtained his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of the Incarnate Word where he achieved National Major Field Test (MFT) Scores in the 95th percentile of his university and the 76th percentile of the nation. These test stores made him competitive with MBA graduates from top-tier schools such as Penn State, Harvard, and Yale Business Schools. A visionary, he has paired these loves with his devotion to help the disadvantaged for the love of God and thus created Mastik Media not merely as a communications agency but a social benefit company donating 7% of profits to those in need. Inspired by the story of his family and those of so many others rife with struggles and pain as immigrants in America, he uses his love of creativity and business as a force for the social and economic advancement of the disadvantaged and underserved. Luis, is clear, that he did not get here on his own. He remembers the struggle of his story and knows that God and God alone is responsible for every single blessing in his life. He is dedicated to giving him Glory; that is his life's work.

Why the Recent Revelations of Abuses are actually Good for the Church

These revelations (not the abuses) are good because God demands authenticity. God is not satisfied with the appearance of holiness and the smell of incense while in secret the stink of hypocrisy wafts from white-washed coffins. God desires men and women after his own heart whose souls echo the crystalline halls described by St. Teresa of Avila and who permit our Lord to reign supreme in the throne rooms of their souls.
